Job description

Overview
The Treatment Director of IDD/Autism Spectrum Services serves as the foster care and adoption program Treatment Director for youth that receive care under Intellectual or Developmental Disability (IDD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder service package. Consultation with external stakeholders and foster families focuses on treatment planning and maintenance of ongoing care in placement. Additionally, the Director of IDD/Autism Spectrum Services provides clinical consultation and review of educational and therapeutic documentation periodically for clients served in other Arrow programs.

Responsibilities
Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
  • Reviews and participates in placement staffing meetings and service plan reviews for youth who may present with or who are pending a DSM-5 diagnosis for Intellectual or Developmental Disability and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder and who require routine clinical intervention and structure to support and manage day-to-day activities.
  • Conduct clinically appropriate assessments at admission and annually, including but not limited to the Verbal Behavioral Milestones Assessment and Placement Program, Vineland Adaptive behavior Scales, Assessment of Functional Life Skills, to make recommendations regarding appropriate service needs for the individual youth.
  • In conjunction with case management, supervisory staff, internal service providers and foster parents, aids in development of a custom care plan for the youth that outlines care for the child's individual therapeutic, developmental and educational needs.
  • Coordination of recommended services outlined in a youth's custom care plan, utilizing service providers internal and external to Arrow, and ensure each youth is receiving comprehensive clinical interventions to achieve their best outcomes.
  • Primary on-call leadership team member available 24 hours day/7 days a week for new admissions, training and consultation with CPA staff and families.
  • Schedules in-home visits and teleconference sessions with foster families serving youth with IDD/Autism Spectrum Disorder services to provide consultation or child-specific training needs.
  • Provides educational advocacy through active participation in ARD meetings and IEP reviews, ensuring educational plans align with the individualized behavioral, developmental, and clinical needs of youth served.
  • Provides accurate documentation of coordinated services provided, progress and/or concerns, and other IDD and/related issues for child's electronic case file.
  • Reviews youth case records, educational documentation and therapeutic service records to ensure compliance to state regulations and Arrow policies.
  • Develops and/or administers training for prospective foster family pre-service that covers an array of areas related to the care and coordination of youth with IDD and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder, including utilization of assistive communication, medical diagnosis, treatment specificities, school advocacy, various developmental therapy interventions, documentation and other training as identified by leadership.
  • Develops a variety of training materials to support the developmental learning of Arrow team
    members.
  • Provides in-house consultation services to Arrow operations.
  • Perform all duties within contract, state and federal regulations, company policy, and regulatory
    agency standards.
  • May be required to drive vehicles, be insurable with our auto insurance provider, and complete
    company vehicle training.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications
Psychiatrist, psychologist, professional counselor, clinical social worker, marriage and family therapist, or
registered nurse; OR Certified by the Texas Education Agency as an education diagnostician, have a master's
degree in special education or human services field, and have three (3) years of experience working with
children with intellectual disabilities or autism spectrum disorder
