Job description

Aurora hires talented people with diverse backgrounds who are ready to help build a transportation ecosystem that will make our roads safer, get crucial goods where they need to go, and make mobility more efficient and accessible for all. We're searching for a Program Manager, People Team.

In this role, you will

  • Drive Program Strategy & Execution: You will take loose concepts or business problems and translate them into rigorous project charters. You define the "what, why, and how," manage the timeline, and ensure the team crosses the finish line.
  • Navigate Ambiguity: You don't need a playbook to be effective. You can enter a chaotic situation, identify the missing pieces, and create structure where there was none.
  • Connect the Dots: You will serve as the "glue" between the People team and the broader business. You ensure stakeholders are aligned, risks are flagged early, and no silos are formed.
  • Master Change Management: You understand that "shipping" a program is only half the solution. You will design communication plans, messaging, and adoption strategies to ensure our distributed workforce embraces the changes you implement.
  • Continuously Improve: You have a continuous improvement mindset and are always thinking of ways to improve things while at the same time as delivering on programs and projects.
  • Force Multiply: You make everyone around you more effective by removing blockers, streamlining processes, and ensuring meetings are decisive and actionable.

We are looking for skills and attitude over tenure. You might be a seasoned Program Manager with years of experience, or you might be a rising star. Regardless of years, you must possess:

  • Proven Program Fluency: Experience (typically 4+ years) managing complex programs in a high-growth environment, consulting firm, or large organization. You can show us examples of messy projects you successfully delivered.
  • High Agency & Accountability: You are a "driver", not a passenger. You track, prioritize, and drive projects without needing to be reminded. If you get stuck, you find a way to get unstuck.
  • Communication Range: You can discuss strategy with senior leaders one moment and coordinate logistics the next. You know how to synthesize complex data into clear narratives, and provide clear written and verbal communications to employees.
  • Tech & Data Savviness: You are comfortable with project management tools (Monday.com, Jira) and have the ability to use data to inform decisions. Familiarity with HR systems (Workday, Greenhouse) is a bonus.
  • An "Impact" Mindset: You are excited by variety and opportunity for impact. You are willing to dive into a Talent Management project today and a Culture initiative tomorrow, depending on where the business needs you most.

This is an in-person position, must work at our on-site office Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at a minimum. This position can be located in Mountain View, CA or Pittsburgh, PA.

The base salary range for this position is $100k - $162k per year.  Aurora's pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
