We're searching for a Staff Technical Program Manager - Vehicle Hardware V&V.
The TPM drives the detailed, bottoms-up engineering for key modules and developments that integrate into top-level, vehicle program objectives. TPMs are responsible for developing and publishing consolidated schedules that balance engineering development risk with program requirements.
TPMs work with internal and external stakeholders to identify requirements, track risks, set appropriate check-points, and drive technical alignment. In the tactical day-to-day development throughout the product life cycle, the TPM manages and communicates status, issues, and risks to, cross-functional partners and leadership across the company. The TPM also supports the development strategies for multi-generational hardware developments.
In this role you will:
  • Be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing execution of vehicle hardware verification activities
  • Lead planning, execution, and day-to-day developments for critical hardware verification efforts
  • Evaluate risks and communicate status to upper management and project stakeholders
  • Engage and energize the project teams to achieve aggressive goals.
  • Ensure program documents, design reviews, design change documentation, and risk analyses like FMEA are complete, current and available for key hardware developments
  • Manage cross-functional efforts for hardware validation and risk mitigation to balance schedule, cost, and quality
  • Instill an efficient program management mindset by introducing tools or processes that could support: workflows, decision-making, change management, schedule adherence, roles and responsibilities clarification, communication plans, action tracking, budget tracking
  • Partner with multiple cross-functions including, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Software, Manufacturing, Hardware Safety Engineering, and Global Supply Management (GSM).
  • Provide program management support for hardware sustainment issues, including; root cause analysis, containment and corrective action implementation, management of testing/inspection, and logistic support.
  • Provide program management support for closing out the hardware product safety case
Required Qualifications:
  • Experience managing hardware product validation with cross functional teams
  • Experience with mechanical and electrical hardware testing
  • Experience with launching new hardware products to market and managing hardware product life cycles
  • Strong understanding of the systems engineering process
  • Strong technical understanding of hardware design and verification/validation process
  • Experience with project management tools such as Smartsheets, MS Project, etc.
  • Experience with task management tools such as Jira Tools, Confluence, etc.
  • Able to be located in Mountain View CA or Pittsburgh PA
  • Ability to travel, up to 35%.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience with vehicle level validation testing
  • Experience with validation of automotive components
  • Experience with managing a product through automotive qualification milestones
  • Experience with electrical validation and reliability testing
  • Experience managing a budget
  • Experience using Jira and smartsheets
  • Experience supporting the development of TPM best practices

The base salary range for this position is $181,000 - $262,500 per year. Aurora's pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
