Job DescriptionThis position is responsible for instructing and assisting with camps and camp programming, including the supervision of campers with the aim of providing a healthy, safe, and enjoyable camp environment and experience.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:- Instruct week long and day camps
- Assist with programming/activities for the campus.
- Participate in group activities.
- Supervise students during mealtimes.
- Prepare camp materials and supplies.
- Encourage/motivate camp participation.
- Handle conflict among campers, and escalate to the supervisor when needed.
- Interact with parents/guardians.
- Supervise campers.
- Ability to travel/have transportation to the college's main campus in Youngwood, PA and all college Education Center locations.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:- Attend all required meetings and trainings.
- Perform additional grade level support duties as assigned.
Required QualificationsEDUCATION:- High school diploma or equivalent required.
EXPERIENCE:- Prior work performance must have met or exceeded appropriate work standards.
LICENSE:- Valid driver's license required.
CLEARANCESThe successful candidate will be required to obtain/provide the following clearances prior to hire:
- PA Child History clearance
- PA Criminal Record Check clearance
- FBI Federal Criminal History Record clearance
Preferred QualificationsCERTIFICATION:- First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
Physical DemandsPHYSICAL DEMANDS:- Ability to stand & walk
- Ability to carry, push, pull, sit, crawl & stoop
- Ability to repeatedly kneel, bend and balance
- Ability to use both hands & both legs
- Ability to use legs/arms to climb
- Repetitive twisting or pressure involving wrists or hands
- Reaching at high or low level
- Repetitive finger movement
- Ability to pull hand over hand
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
AUDIBLE DEMANDS:- Ability to communicate orally and hear conversation.
VISUAL DEMANDS:- Use of computer and internet/internet-based systems.
- Reading and preparing documents, reports, etc.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:- Work is primarily conducted in a typical indoor environment with appropriate lighting, noises, and temperature control.
HAZARDS:- Minimal risk of injury or work-related illnesses.
Salary $12.50/hr.
Schedule Days/Hours Monday - Hours will vary between 8 a.m.- 9.p.m. based on camp schedule, Tuesday - Hours will vary between 8 a.m.- 9.p.m. based on camp schedule, Wednesday - Hours will vary between 8 a.m.- 9.p.m. based on camp schedule, Thursday - Hours will vary between 8 a.m.- 9.p.m. based on camp schedule, Friday - Hours will vary between 8 a.m.- 9.p.m. based on camp schedule, Saturday - Hours will vary between 8 a.m.- 9.p.m. based on camp schedule
