BASIC PURPOSE
Drone Academy Summer Camp Facilitator
Are you looking to have a positive impact on the lives of campers? Are you passionate about STEM? Asa Drone Academy Summer Camp Facilitator, you will have the opportunity to engage campers in the exciting world of STEM technology. Through this role, you will receive specialized training to be a Drone Academy coach. As a Drone Academy Camp Facilitator, you will be required to facilitate one moderate and one advanced session of Drone Academy, each lasting one week.
NOTE: This Camp starts in August.
Part Time Casual Employees are hired on a seasonal basis during peak periods, may serve a maximum of four consecutive months (i.e. summer/fall enrollment peak) and are limited to a maximum of 25 hours per week.
***This position requires the PA Child Abuse, PA State Police and FBI Clearance prior to the start of the position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
KeyResponsibilities
  • Organize, plan, and facilitate STEM-related activities centered around drones and aviation in collaboration with Montgomery County Community College's Youth Engagement department
  • Utilize hands-on experiential learning to engage campers in STEM
  • Be familiar and comfortable with drones and other STEM technologies and concepts
  • Supervise, lead, and positively manage campers ages 10-15

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM-related field
  • Experience assembling, programming ,and flying drones
  • Knowledge of various STEM concepts
  • Knowledge of aviation
  • Experience working with children and teenagers in an educational setting
  • Availability from 9AM-2PM Monday-Friday from August 3rd-August 14th
