Location: Houston, TX 77077 (Hybrid)
Salary: $100,000 – $115,000/year
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Travel: International – ~6 trips/year (2 weeks per trip)
Experience Required: 8–10 years (do not submit over 10)
 
Work Schedule
  • Hybrid (Strict):
    • Mon & Tues: Onsite (Houston)
    • Wed – Fri: Remote
  • Travel: Every other month for 2 weeks
    • Advance notice provided (~2 months)
    • Travel includes Paris, France
Role Summary
Join the Western Hemisphere Audit team of a global energy technology company. This Internal Auditor role focuses on financial and operational audits, helping evaluate controls, identify risks, and improve business processes. The position is designed as a fast-track pathway into finance leadership roles within 2–3 years.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute global financial and operational audit engagements
  • Evaluate internal controls for design and effectiveness
  • Identify financial, operational, and compliance risks
  • Ensure adherence to laws, regulations, and internal policies
  • Partner with management to recommend process improvements
  • Support special projects, investigations, and post-acquisition reviews
  • Act as an independent advisor to business leadership
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Finance audit background required
    • Minimum 1–2 years as Senior Assurance or Finance Auditor
  • No pure IT audit background
    • Mixed IT + Finance audit experience acceptable
  • 4–8 years external audit experience (Big 4 preferred)
  • Willingness to travel up to 2 weeks at a time (~6 trips/year)
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA, CIA, ACCA, or Master’s degree
  • Big 4 public accounting experience
