Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, audit software like CaseWare or IDEA, and a basic understanding of GAAP or IFRS are commonly expected. What are audit internships?

Audit internships are temporary positions, usually offered to students or recent graduates, that provide hands-on experience in the field of auditing. During an audit internship, interns assist professional auditors in examining financial records, assessing internal controls, and ensuring compliance with regulations. These roles help interns build essential skills in accounting, analytics, and communication while gaining exposure to real-world business practices. Audit internships are often a stepping stone to full-time positions in accounting or finance and may be offered by public accounting firms, corporations, or government agencies.
