Position Summary Information
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school or General Education Development (GED) diploma and 2 years of progressive experience in the audio-visual technical field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience providing audiovisual support for presentations and live events, preferably in the higher education setting

License/Certification Required
  • Valid driver's license upon the first day of employment and a clean driving record

Essential Job Functions
  • Assist with operations of Mountaineer Audio Visual Productions. Hours vary based on events
  • Assist with set up, instruction, operation, and breakdown of AV equipment in various university locations
  • Load/unload trucks and push pull carts with AV equipment in various weather conditions.
  • Work with the Director & Assistant Director to understand and meet University constituents' needs for event support services

Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic knowledge of current AV technology systems and equipment
  • Basic knowledge of audio and video conferencing, video streaming software and equipment
  • Hands-on technical skills and aptitude for troubleshooting and adjusting AV equipment
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of audiovisual equipment and computer software systems
  • Ability to work with student team members and work effectively with clients
  • Strong computer skills and software skills (Mac & PC), including Powerpoint, Google Slides, Zoom, etc.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Excellent listening, speaking, and written communication skills
  • Must be responsible, self-motivated, personable, well-organized and professional
  • Flexibility and ability to work collaboratively
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
