Audio Video Engineer/Programmer
Location: Huntsville, AL
Clearance: This position requires a DoD Clearance

Responsibilities:


  • Plan, oversee, operate, and maintain video conferencing equipment in support of Missile Defense Agency (MDA) events, including AV Control System programming and testing
  • Provide VTC event planning packages (test plans, engineering assessments, configuration drawings, accreditation documentation, etc.) as requested
  • Oversee VTC Maintenance Crew in delivering VTC and A/V operational support and facilitation
  • Oversee VTC Maintenance Crew in maintaining VTC-unique hardware, software, and peripherals (e.g., TelePresence, CODEC, AV, Gateways, TMS, Monitors, Projectors, AMX Panels)
  • Oversee VTC Maintenance Crew in utilizing incident management tracking tools (e.g., Remedy) for all maintenance activities
  • Monitor MDA's Remedy Application and assign maintenance tasks to individual Crew Members
  • Oversee VTC Maintenance Crew in maintaining equipment per Information Assurance guidance from manufacturers and Government (e.g., CERT IAVM, DISA)
  • Oversee VTC Maintenance Crew in troubleshooting and resolving collaboration and business application incidents
  • Plan and oversee preventative maintenance services per manufacturer-recommended schedules and SOPs
  • Implement and execute configuration management plans, processes, and procedures
  • Oversee maintenance of MDA collaboration systems and all associated VTC peripheral equipment (VBIII Auditorium, future operations/control centers); maintain/procure manufacturer service and maintenance agreements
  • Manage, plan, design, coordinate, integrate, and implement future collaboration services and equipment (including procurement, testing, and acceptance)
  • Manage COMSEC materials and procedures to ensure VTC systems are operational and properly keyed for secure events; maintain accountability of electronic keying material and CCI equipment; comply with access control procedures
  • Stay current with advancing technologies and provide recommendations for new technologies and technology refresh to the Government
  • Prepare, review, coordinate, update, and submit DIACAP supporting documentation


Requirements:


  • Education
    • High school diploma required
    • College degree preferred but not required
  • Experience
    • 5+ years of experience in the Audio-Visual industry
    • Extensive experience with AV control system installation, programming, and troubleshooting
    • Experience programming both AMX (Netlinx Studio) and Extron (Visual Studio) control systems
    • Experience with Cisco systems installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
    • Experience with desktop and conference room VTC systems in a secure government or military environment
    • Technical Knowledge
    • Strong understanding of computer networking, including configuration of Cisco Network Switches
    • Working knowledge of AV concepts (acoustics, lighting, aspect ratios, font size vs. distance, scan rates, video standards, and transmission systems)
    • Working knowledge of TEMPEST standards and IA concerns for multi-classification multimedia systems
    • Knowledge and experience with computer network configuration
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Office products
    • Cisco Call Manager experience (a plus)
    • Understanding of electrical current (a plus)
