Job description

Audio-Visual Systems Engineer


Precise AV is a leading, NYC-based system integration company offering Audio Visual, videoconferencing and managed services solutions. Headquartered in Long Island City, just 15 minutes from Manhattan, we are innovative problem solvers, focused on helping people create well-planned, attractive presentation spaces that improve collaboration and productivity.
We have an immediate opening for an Audio-Visual Systems Engineer. Our ideal candidate will have three to five years’ experience troubleshooting, servicing and installing Audio Visual systems.


Responsibilities:
• Troubleshoot & diagnose Audio visual equipment failures, resolving problems and/or identifying equipment in need of replacement or manufacturer repair
• Provide onsite support and troubleshooting of control systems, DSP systems, projection systems, display devices and signal switching
• Work remotely with Control and DSP programmers to commission, debug and troubleshoot systems in-house and onsite
• Initiate Manufacturer’s RMAs and coordinate resolution with clients, office and vendors
• Install and configure wired and wireless Audio and Control network systems and microphones
• Assist in configuring web conferencing applications (Go-to meeting, Webex, Skype, BlueJeans)
• Work with clients to coordinate functionality of wired and wireless data networks, to support video conferencing, VOIP, streaming media and control systems
• Read and understand AV system drawings and project documentation
• Report directly to Project Managers and Team Leaders. Provide daily updates on project status
• Collaboratively communicate with managers and co-workers
Required Qualifications:
• 3-5 years’ experience with commercial AV integration
• InfoComm CTS-I strongly desired, manufacturer certifications a plus, but not required
• Understanding of control and video distribution, structured cabling, equipment rack fabrication and terminations, including soldering, CAT5/6 and other common AV connectors
• Experience working with Crestron, Polycom, Cisco, Extron and AMX systems
• Experience in creating and deploying site files for SoundStructure, BiAmp and ClearOne audio DSP systems
• Basic networking skills
• Manufacturer certifications a plus
• Familiarity with low-voltage disciplines (CCTV, Access Control, Network Cabling, etc.) a plus
• Have patience, determination, discipline and maturity to manage time and effectively handle stressful situations, should they arise
• Ability to understand and follow base building and electrical blueprints
• Must be a team player, have a professional demeanor with strong verbal communication skills
• Must have a desire to take ownership and responsibility for quality workmanship
• Must have a High School Diploma or GED (Technical Diploma, B.A. or A.A. a plus)
• Be willing to work overtime evenings and weekends from time to time as necessary
• Physical requirements: ability to lift moderately heavy equipment, stand for extended periods of time, climb ladders, crawl under tables and have full hand dexterity to meet the physical demands of the position
