Audio Visual Technician – Full Time

Wisconsin Audio Video is seeking full-time, on-site Audio Visual Technicians to join our growing team. This opportunity is ideal for individuals looking to build a long-term career in the commercial audiovisual industry, whether you are entering the field as an apprentice or already have prior AV installation experience.

At Wisconsin Audio Video, you will work with advanced commercial audio, video, LED display, and sensory media systems used in corporate boardrooms, training facilities, hospitality environments, retail spaces, and other high-end commercial applications. Our projects expose team members to cutting-edge technology and provide the opportunity to develop valuable technical and leadership skills within a professional, fast-growing industry.

Position Overview

Based on experience level, technicians will lead or assist with the installation, configuration, and testing of commercial-grade AV systems. Responsibilities include installing and servicing audiovisual equipment, running and terminating low-voltage cabling, mounting displays and hardware, troubleshooting system issues, and working from system drawings and documentation.

Technicians work closely with project managers, programmers, and engineers to deliver high-quality installations that meet company standards and client expectations. Additional responsibilities may include client system orientation, job-site organization, and maintaining a clean and professional work environment.

Experienced Candidates

Experienced candidates should possess prior experience in commercial audiovisual installation, low-voltage integration, structured cabling, electrical, networking, or related technical trades.

A working knowledge of commercial AV systems is preferred, including:

  • Commercial displays and LED video walls
  • Projection systems
  • Professional audio systems
  • Video conferencing platforms
  • AV control systems
  • Network-based AV technologies

Candidates with experience using platforms such as QSC, Biamp, Shure, Extron, Crestron, or similar professional AV systems are strongly encouraged to apply. Qualified candidates should be comfortable interpreting system drawings, troubleshooting technical issues, and completing projects with minimal supervision.

Apprentice Candidates

Individuals new to the AV industry are encouraged to apply if they possess strong mechanical aptitude, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn.

Experience with hand tools, construction, carpentry, electrical work, networking, or low-voltage systems is helpful but not required. We are looking for dependable individuals who work well as part of a team and are interested in developing long-term technical skills in a rapidly growing industry.

Candidates must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, working on ladders and lifts, and maintaining a clean driving record.

All Candidates

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Professional communication skills
  • Dependability and accountability
  • A strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team

Applicants must be comfortable working on-site and safely operating hand and power tools. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional technical training, certifications, or AV industry experience is considered a plus.

Why Wisconsin Audio Video?

This position offers the opportunity to work with advanced commercial AV technologies in a professional environment that values quality workmanship, technical growth, and long-term career development. Team members gain hands-on experience with sophisticated systems and technologies used by major corporations, hospitality venues, and commercial clients throughout the region.

If you are looking for a career—not just a job—and want to work in a growing technology industry with opportunities for advancement, we encourage you to apply.
