Job description

At Side, we work alongside some of the world's leading game developers to solve complex technical challenges and bring exceptional player experiences to life.

As our projects continue to grow in scale and technical ambition, we're looking for a Senior Technical Artist to help drive performance and visual quality on a large-scale open world title. This is a highly technical role focused on environment optimisation, working at the intersection of art and engineering to ensure expansive game worlds run efficiently without compromising visual fidelity. You'll collaborate closely with artists, rendering engineers, and content teams to optimise assets, materials, textures, shaders, and workflows, while developing scalable solutions that support the creation of high-quality open world environments.

If you're passionate about squeezing every millisecond from a frame, solving complex technical challenges, and enabling artists to deliver stunning content at scale, then we'd love to hear from you.

Requirements

What you will be doing:

  • Drive optimisation efforts across large-scale open world environments, ensuring visual quality targets are achieved within performance and memory budgets.
  • Implement and refine LOD, HLOD, material, texture and asset streaming solutions to improve runtime performance.
  • Profile CPU, GPU and memory usage, identifying bottlenecks and working with Art and Engineering teams to resolve them.
  • Ad hoc development of tools, workflows and technical solutions in C++ and engine scripting to improve efficiency and content scalability.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a Technical Artist on AAA titles, with a strong focus on environment optimisation and performance.
  • Deep understanding of LOD systems, materials, textures, shaders, asset streaming and real-time rendering principles.
  • Strong C++ programming skills, with experience developing tools and pipelines within modern game engines.
  • Excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between Art and Engineering teams.

Benefits

  • Competitive Salary.
  • Dynamic, multicultural and fun environment.
  • You will be working for the world's leading provider of game services.
  • We empower our people and offer regular progression opportunities to ensure our employees flourish.
