Audio Visual Director
Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking an Audio Visual Director. In this role, you'll be responsible for the strategic leadership, management, and execution of all audio-visual services across the resort. This includes supporting conferences, weddings, corporate events, entertainment programming, and in-house productions. You'll ensure exceptional guest experiences through innovative AV solutions, operational excellence, team leadership, and revenue optimization.
As part of our leadership team, you'll embody our Promise to Lead with Love-guiding, supporting, and inspiring associates while delivering extraordinary guest experiences. You'll contribute to the success of engaging, memorable entertainment programs that drive guest satisfaction, repeat visits, and resort energy. You'll also foster a positive workplace culture by leading, motivating, and developing audio-visual teams that deliver exceptional service and experiences across the property.
Salary Range - $110k - $120k
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the AV team, including technicians, supervisors, and event staff.
  • Recruit, train, and schedule staff to meet event and operational demands.
  • Oversee all AV support for meetings, conferences, weddings, and resort events.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Catering, and Event Planning teams to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Manage event timelines, equipment setup, operation, and breakdown.
  • Develop AV revenue strategies, including pricing models and upselling opportunities.
  • Prepare and manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and cost controls.
  • Track revenue performance and identify growth opportunities.
  • Maximize profitability while maintaining high service quality.
  • Manage relationships with external AV vendors and production partners.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage outsourced services when needed.
  • Act as primary AV contact for high-profile clients and complex events.
  • Conduct client needs assessments, site visits, and technical consultations.

What We're Looking For
  • At least 5+ years of progressive audio-visual experience in a meeting space of 75,000+ sq. ft, preferably in a hospitality environment (hotel/resort).
  • 3-5 years of proven experience in a management or leadership position.
  • Bachelor's or Arts degree in Audio Visual Technology, Hospitality Management, or related field preferred.
  • Positive, enthusiastic, and passionate personality.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to work in a variety of environments, with often high noise levels.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • The Associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
