Job description

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Works closely with the Operations Manager and Event Coordinators to develop timelines, schedules and action plans for event set-up and services.
• Creates chair set timelines and plans for non-hockey related events.
• Attend department planning meetings along with participation in Safety Workgroup.
• Helps prepare department work schedules, set staffing responsibilities, and review quantity and quality of work performed. Schedule full/part-time employees and subcontracted service providers (stagehands, temp labor, etc.) according to event demands.
• Supervises and instructs the crews in the set-up, additions and changes, striking and tear down of events. Makes changes in floor plans and layouts at the direction of management in charge of events. Assists in the planning and execution of changeovers of the Huntington Center from one event to another.
• Support and assist the Director and Manager of Operations with budgeting and staffing plans; training, supervising, and evaluating personnel and service providers.
• Responsible for the cleaning, upkeep and minor maintenance of the facility and related support areas.
• Reports all major maintenance items and safety concerns to management.
• Responsible for delivering the highest level of service to all clients and events. Assists in resolving client's questions and concerns.
• Oversees the cleaning, minor maintenance and proper storage of all event equipment and furniture, including Hockey, staging, audio/visual equipment and motorized equipment.
• Assist in the training and orientation of new employees, assist with continuing education and training sessions for existing employees, monitors employees progress and assist with employee evaluations.
• Expected to resolve employee conflicts by reference to general work instructions, Union contract and ASM's policies and procedures. Informs management of disciplinary or other problems with crew members.
• Assist with snow removal and other outdoor grounds maintenance projects as directed.
• Operates motorized equipment in the performance of assigned duties ie: ice resurfacers, forklifts; floor scrubber, aerial lifts, snow removal equipment, etc.
• Assists with ice installation, preparation and maintenance; typical methods and techniques for maintaining, repairing and building ice; and ice reverse osmosis system
