Job DescriptionYour OpportunityThe Senior Audio Visual Designer performs basic technical duties under the supervision of Group Leaders or Project Manager. Understands and identifies project requirements and performs independent technical work on basic tasks within one's own discipline. Coordinates production with workgroup. Provides guidance, training, and mentorship to junior Consultants. Coordinates with Project Manager on completion of duties.
Your Key Responsibilities - Meets with clients to review industry trends and guide discussions to develop client and project specific basis of design.
- Develop system designs for Audio Visual systems under minimal supervision; this includes the ability to offer solutions to advanced technical problems.
- Performs site visits for surveys, progress inspections, and final punch lists as required by project timelines.
- Prepares and manages project deliverables per the client's intent and scope of work in Stantec's proposal.
- Follows Stantec's quality management process; reviews project deliverables before submitting them to QA/QC reviewer.
- Performs QA/QC reviews for junior team members.
- Actively participates in the engineering/professional community to build personal knowledge and professional growth (e.g. attend meetings / seminars / conferences and/or write articles for trade magazines.)
- Participates in Stantec's "One Practice" efforts to create and maintain
- Meets or exceeds utilization goals and adheres to project budget.
- Perform duties to assist or act as the project manager as follows:
- Gives input or creates plans to complete tasks within the project timeline and budget, identifies required precursors from other disciplines in a timely fashion.
- Creates detailed instructions, delegates tasks, and reviews returned work as necessary to ensure timely execution of project within budget.
- Identifies and reports potential roadblocks and competing client and co-worker priorities that may inhibit the ability to maintain the project scope, schedule, and budget.
- Develops understanding of Stantec's accounting and project management systems.
QualificationsYour Capabilities and Credentials - Possess deep understanding of engineering practices within the Audio Visual discipline.
- Extensive knowledge of commonly used and accepted design and construction concepts, practices, procedures.
- Able to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents and specifications, technical procedures, and government regulations.
- Proficient in applicable software (i.e. REVIT, AutoCAD, Bluebeam).
- Exhibits strong communication skills to confidently interact and communicate scope and coordinate tasks with vendors and inter-discipline co-workers.
- Displays effective organization and time management skills with projects, reports and other duties; effectively manages multiple priorities and is punctual and dependable.
- Possesses knowledge of ASIS standards and best practices.
- Has background experience and knowledge of Mission Critical Facilities.
Education and Experience - Experience with Audio Visual design within Commercial and Workplace markets is preferred.
- Accredited engineering degree or equivalent experience required.
- AVIXA CTS-D certification is desired.
- Minimum 7-10 years related industry experience preferred.

About the TeamPay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
