Job description

Description:

Hybrid role split across the Tech Shop and Shipping departments. Approximately three days per week are devoted to inspecting, testing, and performing quality control on returned and used audio equipment to approve it for resale, including minor repairs as needed. Approximately two days per week support core warehouse functions — receiving, fulfillment, and inventory accuracy — with additional coverage as needed. Ability to set up a wide variety of audio equipment and systems is necessary.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


Testing & Quality Control (primary, ~3 days/week)

  • Test incoming customer return authorizations with defect or damage indicated to facilitate vendor repair or replacement on stock cases
  • Identify inventory for fast tracking; clean and prepare inventory for photography
  • Test incoming used inventory as needed to identify functional issues
  • Pass or fail and communicate used inventory issues via NetSuite to Used Purchasing Manager
  • Perform quality control of serviced used and vintage items
  • Record and communicate restocking fee recommendations to Customer Service team where applicable
  • Perform minor repairs for items and case items as needed
  • Perform voltage conversion for outgoing international shipments
  • Align, adjust, and calibrate equipment according to specifications; calibrate testing instruments
  • Maintain NetSuite records of inventory, repairs, calibrations, and tests
  • Research and source parts needed to complete equipment repairs as needed

Shipping & Receiving (~2 days/week, plus coverage as needed)

  • Contribute to fulfillment activities including verification of outgoing orders, picking, packing, and shipping
  • Contribute to receiving activities including verification of incoming purchase orders, verification and testing of customer returns, customer service/stock case shipments, and transfer orders
  • Maintain inventory organization and accuracy including following operational procedures for order discrepancies, tagging inventory, conducting regular sample counts, and periodic physical inventories
  • Follow department safety procedures and compliance including but not limited to operating Crown WAV Order Picker within safety guidelines
  • Follow procedures and guidelines for international and hazardous material shipping compliance
  • Contribute to facility maintenance and cleanliness as needed


Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with all recording equipment and signal flow (microphones, pres, EQs, DAWs, etc.)
  • Familiarity with operating classic 1970s transistor based designs along with IC and tube units
  • Familiarity with computer (PC and Mac) and typing skills
  • Knowledge of Inventory, Database, Order processing, and Internet software.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
