We are seeking a creative, and organized test engineer to develop testing solutions to support and enhance our quality initiatives. Audio drivers, firmware and audio subsystems will all be qualified using manual test passes and applying subjective measures of Audio Quality on the AirPods products. As well as building plans to automate test suites..
You will contribute to the quality and testing of Apple AirPods products. You will work with peer groups to understand the needs, challenges and existing tools and be involved in defining and updating team test plans, test cases, processes and procedures. Taking existing test cases and test suites and architecting automation plans. In this position you will need to be a self-starter with excellent communications skills, both verbal & written and have an attention to detail. You'll need to work well on a team and on your own and at times lead your test areas which will require the presentation and communications of testing progress, issues found, and champion the improved quality of your areas. The fast-paced nature of the job requires someone who can work well under pressure and can quickly adapt to new technologies into effective audio testing. We are seeking someone who is intensely curious yet focused on delivering results in a timely manner. Having eye's, ear's and passion for user focused quality is required.
5+ years experience in audio test engineeringAdvanced understanding of macOS and iOS platforms is a mustExpertise in Audio Testing, isolating issues, devising test plans, driving to specificationsFamiliarity with real-time audio handling (sample rates, buffering, PCM, drivers, etc.)Proficient in using Python and command line interfacesKnowledge of Apple software developer tools (Xcode, Objective-C)A foundational understanding of electronics, audio technology, and recording studiosMusicians & Audiophiles welcome
Experience with FPGAs, development boards preferred Audio DSP experience is preferredBS/BA in Computer Science, Audio Engineering or Music Technology
