IAV is currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Infotainment / Audio Design Engineer to join our team and support the development of next-generation infotainment systems for all-electric pickup trucks and rugged SUVs.

In this role, you will lead the design and delivery of premium in-vehicle audio hardware solutions, working across global teams and suppliers to bring cutting-edge infotainment experiences from concept through production.

Essential Responsibilities & Activities:

  • Responsible for the electrical hardware design and development of infotainment audio components, including speakers, amplifiers, and related subsystems
  • Own delivery from concept development through virtual design, validation, testing, and production launch
  • Collaborate with Purchasing and Finance to develop technical requirements supporting sourcing, supplier selection, and cost targets
  • Partner with Tier 1 suppliers, customer module owners, and design/release engineers to define, validate, and release infotainment audio components
  • Perform and support virtual, bench, vehicle-level, and field validation testing to ensure performance, durability, and quality targets are met
  • Participate in DFMEA, ISO 26262 functional safety activities, worst-case circuit analysis, and other engineering reviews
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety standards, regulatory requirements, and automotive best practices
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance sound quality, system performance, and overall customer experience
  • Support manufacturing readiness, including input into production processes and facility design for Scout programs
  • Manage supplier performance to achieve program targets for cost, quality, and delivery timing
  • Contribute to a collaborative, high-performance team culture that promotes innovation and continuous learning.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in automotive infotainment and/or audio systems development
  • Proven experience delivering components across the full product lifecycle (concept, design, validation, and launch)
  • Strong expertise in audio system hardware design, including amplifiers, speakers, and signal paths
  • Knowledge of infotainment system architecture, including System-on-Chip (SoC) platforms and related hardware interfaces
  • Understanding of infotainment system integration with vehicle domains (communications, chassis, diagnostics/OBD, and network systems)
  • Experience with automotive validation and verification processes, tools, and methodologies
  • Strong problem-solving skills with use of structured engineering approaches (e.g., Six Sigma, DFMEA)
  • Familiarity with CAE tools and simulation-based design approaches
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and global organizations
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Willingness to travel, as needed
