About the role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Lead AV Technician to join our team. As a Lead AV Technician, you will be responsible for coordinating, managing, and installing AV projects, providing technical guidance to a team of AV Technicians, and ensuring the timely completion of all AV-related tasks. What you'll do
  • Lead and manage a team of AV technicians, providing guidance, training, and supervision to ensure work is completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute AV projects, including the installation, termination, testing and commissioning cables systems in accordance with engineering designs.
  • Conduct site surveys and assess AV requirements to determine appropriate materials, equipment, and resources needed for each project.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop AV plans and strategies that meet the organization's and project's needs.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and safety guidelines during AV installations and maintenance activities.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose complex AV issues, utilizing specialized tools and equipment to identify faults and implement effective solutions.
  • Perform cable terminations, splicing, and testing, including copper, coaxial cables, and CAT cables to ensure optimal network performance.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of AV projects, including as-built drawings, red lines, test results, and project progress reports.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent. A degree or certification in audiovisual technology, electronics, or a related field is preferred.
  • 5+ years previous experience working as an AV Technician or in a similar role is highly desirable.
  • Experience leading a team preferred.
  • Proficient understanding of audiovisual equipment, systems, and signal flow. Familiarity with video conferencing platforms, audio mixing consoles, lighting systems, and multimedia software is essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients and team members effectively. Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical individuals.
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate setup, operation, and maintenance of AV equipment.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, adhering to tight deadlines and delivering high-quality results.
