Staff System Applications Engineer
About the Role
Join ADI's Consumer Audio team working with leading OEMs to deliver next-generation audio playback systems.
As a Staff System Applications Engineer, you will serve as a system-level technical expert and customer-facing authority, driving the successful integration of ADI solutions in speaker and audio amplifier signal chains, with a focus on smart amplifiers and power-aware system optimization for high-volume consumer products.
This role spans signal processing, hardware, power, and system optimization-translating complex customer requirements into high-performance, production-ready playback designs. You will combine deep domain expertise with the ability to operate across system boundaries, while influencing product direction through direct customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a trusted technical partner to key customers
  • Define and support system architectures across audio signal chain, speaker path, and power integration
  • Drive system performance optimization, including tuning and algorithm integration
  • Deliver reference designs, validation strategies, and debug support
  • Solve complex system-level challenges across hardware, firmware, and algorithms
  • Influence product direction and roadmap through customer insights
  • Support customer bring-up, validation, and production ramp

Must Have Skills
  • Strong system-level debugging and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in consumer audio systems or related mixed-signal / embedded platforms
  • Proven success in a customer-facing engineering role
  • Working knowledge of audio or system performance fundamentals
  • Experience in one or more areas:
  • Signal processing systems
  • Analog/mixed-signal hardware
  • Acoustics or electro-acoustic systems
  • Power systems (including DC/DC)
  • Embedded or firmware-based systems
  • Ability to operate effectively across multiple technical domains with a system mindset

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with audio enhancement, tuning, or speaker protection algorithms
  • Exposure to acoustic or electro-acoustic systems
  • Familiarity with audio DSP concepts
  • Mechanical design and prototyping experience
  • Programming or scripting skills
  • Experience supporting high-volume consumer products
  • PCB design experience
  • Language skills: Korean
