Job description

Supplier Quality Engineer
Quality Control Department
Outline of Duties:
1. Review and disposition Initial Sample reports for the qualification of ECS,PCR.
2. Analyze problems with parts, processes (internal and external) and vehicle.
3. Utilize parts drawings, technical specifications, and other standards in order to determine part requirements and conformance to those requirements.
4. Develop and lead investigation strategies.
5. Train and support supplier contacts in SIA Quality Procedures, forms, standard quality tools, and culture change.
6. Track and analyze trend data for targets to identify priority projects (Defect Attack Reporting).
7. Serve as subject expert for department and plant as applicable in cross functional teams, audit groups, training etc.
8. Review and disposition Problem and Countermeasure reports from suppliers.
9. Mentor, direct, and aid SQA Hourly associates assigned to applicable parts.
10. Interact and communicate as needed with SRD, Purchasing, ME, PE, IPC, Production and suppliers.
11. Support development, qualification, and organization of containment.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • B.S. or equivalent work experience in Technology (i.e. Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Technology,)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Power Point, Teams and Share Point.
  • Ability to work and build relationships with all levels of the organization (Managers, Group Leaders, Engineers, Production Associates)

Desired Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing quality or engineering position. Automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier experience.
  • Specific process experience or education such as Plastic, Machining, Welding, Stamping, etc.
  • Experience with coordinate measuring equipment use/data interpretation.
  • ASQ Certification
