Job Purpose

The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, qualifying, and closing business with new clients who are looking to solve their language service and AI / technology challenges by working with RWS - a company who has been doing this for the World's leading brands for more than six decades. 

Business development managers are jointly responsible for generating their own pipeline by identifying, prospecting, and earning new customers through an effective sales strategy and approach. You will work in conjunction with our business consultants and operational colleagues to put the right solution in front of potential customers. 

Business Development Managers have support from inside sales and marketing, but the focus of this role is hunting.

Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve or exceed assigned sales targets, KPIs, and revenue goals. 
  • Identify new opportunities and build a pipeline through outbound prospecting, networking, lead generation, or collaboration with AM. 
  • Build and maintain relationships with prospective clients to understand their needs and position solutions effectively. 
  • Develop sales strategies to win new accounts or expand existing ones, lead sales cycle, tailor proposals, and close contracts. 
  • Partner with Industry Consultants and Pre-Sales to strengthen sales credibility 
  • Formulate the forecast on opportunities in motion 
  • Keep CRM systems updated and maintain CRM hygiene. 
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Product teams to align go-to-market efforts and messaging. 
  • Represent RWS at events, trade shows, and client meetings to build brand visibility and credibility. 

Skills & Experience 

  • Minimum of three years of successful sales experience in selling technology (SaaS solutions) to CxOs (CMO, CTO, CAIO...) in different verticals and eventually in selling services.
  • A network of key decision makers for technology in different verticals. 
  • Communication skills, including delivery of presentations and pitches. 
  • Experience in consultative sales. 
  • Demonstrable success in closing new business and retaining existing accounts. 
  • Demonstrable experience in prospecting and outbound lead generation activities. 
  • Structured approach to selling. Self-Organization and time management. 
  • Business analysis, planning, and organizational skills. 
  • Negotiation skills. 
  • Commercial awareness and results focus. 
  • Relationship management. 
  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors to identify and develop the company's unique selling propositions and differentiators. 
  • Ability to learn new products and services. 
  • Experience tracking sales activity in a CRM tool (e.g., Salesforce).

Base Pay

$85,000 - $120,000 Base salary per annum plus a generous commission 

Actual rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to: position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. Total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other perks, as outlined in any formal offer made.
