Position Type:  Full-time

General Summary:

Under the direction of the Marketing and Development Director, the Development Manager is responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individuals, organizations, private foundations, and businesses/corporations in fundraising activities at the Youth Home Agency. This role involves developing and implementing strategies to build relationships with donors, matching projects and needs with donor interests, researching donor capacity, and collaborating with staff, volunteers, and supporters of the Youth Home. This position will work closely with other staff members to design and implement strategies aimed at securing gifts and sponsorships. This position must be able to champion Youth Home's model of Trauma Informed Care (TIC), and speak openly and compassionately about youth mental and behavioral health with prospective donors. Includes Youth Home, Inc. and Behavioral Health Services of Arkansas.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support and/or lead campaign efforts, including coordination of materials, donor events, and campaign tracking. 
  • Develop and implement customized cultivation and individualized solicitation plans that align donor interests with organizational priorities. 
  • Coordinate with other marketing and fundraising initiatives to ensure a cohesive donor experience.
  • Identifies, cultivates, and solicits donor prospects for contributions to Youth Home.
  • Works closely with the CEO, Marketing and Development Director, and Board of Directors (BOD) to manage prospect assignments, record contact interactions, and track progress towards fundraising goals.
  • Develops a pipeline of prospects for future campaigns, ensuring a continuous flow of potential gifts and opportunities for strategic growth.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong written and verbal skills; ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, patients, licensed associates and the general public
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Basic understanding of calculation of figures for use in patient statistics and accounting and billing procedures
  • Must have the ability to communicate with varying specialized audiences, including medical professionals, parents, and caregivers
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in business, non-profit management, marketing or related field preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for the degree preference on a year-for-year basis. 

Three to five years of professional fundraising experience in a non-profit setting is preferred. Experience in a medical setting and knowledge of state, federal, and Joint Commission regulations is also a plus. Experience with CRM/database management, donor activity tracking, and generating reports is required.

Physical Demands and Work Environment 

Team members are required to sit, stand, talk, see, walk and reach with hands and arms. Must maintain a current tuberculosis skin test. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
