Attorney - Paisley Park
Location: Chanhassen, Minnesota Position Type: Full-Time
We are seeking an experienced Attorney to provide strategic legal guidance across a dynamic range of business, intellectual property, entertainment, operational, and compliance matters.

Paisley Park is the iconic creative sanctuary established by Prince and continues to serve as a museum, entertainment destination, event venue, and steward of his enduring legacy.
Position Summary
The Attorney will serve as a key legal advisor to Paisley Park leadership, supporting day-to-day business operations while helping protect and advance the organization's interests. This role requires a practical, business-minded legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can effectively balance risk management with operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal counsel on contracts, business transactions, partnerships, sponsorships, licensing agreements, and vendor relationships.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide variety of commercial agreements.
  • Advise on intellectual property matters, including trademarks, copyrights, licensing, and brand protection.
  • Support museum, entertainment, event, retail, hospitality, and digital business operations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Manage and coordinate outside counsel when necessary.
  • Develop and maintain internal policies, procedures, and governance documentation.
  • Advise leadership on employment-related legal matters and organizational risk management.
  • Monitor legal developments affecting the entertainment, tourism, hospitality, and nonprofit sectors.
  • Assist with dispute resolution, claims management, and litigation oversight.

Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license and good standing to practice law in the state of Minnesota.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in entertainment, intellectual property, corporate, business, or commercial law.
  • Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of intellectual property law and brand protection strategies.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a variety of legal areas
  • Proven ability to independently exercise sound judgment and discretion.
  • Experience supporting executive leadership and cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in entertainment, music, media, hospitality, tourism, or cultural institutions.
  • Familiarity with trademark and copyright law is preferred
  • In-house counsel experience preferred, including experience in supervising and collaborating with outside counsel.
