The Host/Expo  supports the guest experience from arrival through the delivery of their meal. This dual-function position may be assigned to host, expo, or food-running responsibilities based on the needs of the restaurant during each shift.

The position creates a welcoming first impression for guests, supports communication between the Front of House and Heart of House teams, and ensures food is accurate, properly presented, and delivered promptly. Team members in this role are expected to provide friendly, efficient, and professional service while following Atomic's standards for food quality, safety, sanitation, and hospitality.

• Welcome and acknowledge guests promptly in a friendly and professional manner.
• Seat guests efficiently and systematically while supporting the flow of service.
• Manage the waitlist and communicate accurate wait times and updates to guests.
• Answer incoming phone calls promptly and professionally.
• Take and process takeout orders accurately, including completing payment transactions.
• Maintain knowledge of the restaurant's menu, promotions, specials, hours of operation, and general information.
• Respond professionally to guest questions, requests, and concerns and involve a manager when appropriate.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming host area.

• Organize and verify completed orders for accuracy, quality, presentation, and proper timing.
• Ensure each plate meets recipe specifications and Atomic's quality standards before leaving the kitchen.
• Serve as a communication link between the Heart of House and Front of House teams.
• Notify servers when orders are ready or deliver food directly to the appropriate tables.
• Confirm food is delivered promptly and to the correct guest.
• Prepare garnishes, trays, takeout orders, and other items needed for service.
• Perform light food preparation duties, including preparing salads, appetizers, desserts, and similar items.
• Assist with stocking, receiving, properly storing, labeling, and rotating food and supplies.
• Maintain clean and organized expo, food-running, and service areas.

• Communicate clearly and professionally with guests and team members in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain a positive and professional presence throughout each shift.
• Assist with bussing and resetting tables, stocking supplies, checking restrooms, emptying trash, managing bus tubs, refilling ice, washing glassware, and completing assigned side work.
• Keep equipment, tools, and supplies clean, organized, and properly stored.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, cash-handling, and workplace safety procedures.
• Comply with applicable federal and state regulations and all Atomic policies and procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the management team.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ATTRIBUTES:

• Understanding of hygiene and food safety rules
• Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• 100% Stand for long periods of time.
• 75% Bend, stoop, lift and reach.
• 50% Operate cash register and POS system and make changes.
• 75% Lift and carry racks of up to 45 pounds, up to 80 times per shift; reaching and placing items on high shelves.
• 75% Use chemicals and cleaning materials according to safety regulations.
• 20% Flexible in performing other related tasks designated from manager.

ESSENTIAL TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

• Successful completion of hourly position validations, including reading training materials and watching videos.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be 18 years old to serve alcohol or as state regulations dictate. Must be at least 16 years old to remove alcohol or as state regulations dictate.
