Title:             Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant - Occupational Health

Location:      Indianapolis, IN

Status:          PRN

Hours:          Availability needed M-F

We are currently seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) to deliver high-quality, onsite occupational health services in alignment with AWS clinical guidelines and standards of care.

Responsibilities

As a Nurse Practitioner, you'll provide high-quality, client-focused care through critical assessments, effective documentation, employee education, and collaborative intervention-while fostering a positive, professional environment and ensuring confidentiality, compliance, and continuous improvement. In this position, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality care to client employees while consistently meeting client expectations for timely resolution and support.
  • Apply critical thinking and clinical experience to conduct comprehensive risk and health assessments.
  • Document all clinical activities thoroughly and efficiently, while actively integrating feedback to support ongoing improvement.
  • Monitor intervention effectiveness and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to promote employee function, recovery, and resilience.
  • Provide preventative and restorative services through direct engagement or by coordinating early intervention specialists for job coaching, ADL coaching, mobility training, and workstation evaluations.
  • Educate employees on health, safety, and wellness topics such as bloodborne pathogens, universal precautions, safe lifting techniques, body mechanics, and OSHA surveillance.
  • Demonstrate strong teamwork and foster a positive work environment through respectful, clear, and proactive communication with colleagues, clients, and leadership.
  • Communicate effectively with individuals at all levels-from front-line employees to plant managers and internal leadership.
  • Utilize electronic medical records (EMRs) efficiently and maintain strong organizational and computer skills.
  • Protect sensitive information by maintaining strict confidentiality and adhering to all privacy policies and protocols.
  • Execute program workflows, protocols and procedures including: emergency response, internal and external care referrals, return to work, stay at work, restriction management, and support of client Leave of Absence (LOA) management
  • Provide preventative and restorative services and education to employees by engaging employees or dispatching an early interventions specialist to provide job coaching, ADL coaching, mobility coaching, and workstation assessments
  • Assist with Return to Work and restriction management for leave of absence cases to include WC, STD/LTD

Qualifications

Preferred Experience:

  • At least one year experience in Urgent Care, Emergency Care, Occ Med, or Ortho
  • Experience/ability to suture

Required Licenses and Certifications:

  • Current APRN / Nurse Practitioner License in state of practice (or eligible)
  • Licensed Prescriptive Authority as an APRN; Current DEA licensure
  • Established Collaborative Practice Agreement where applicable
  • State Controlled Substance Licensure, if required by State Law
  • Current CPR certification
  • Will be required to either hold or complete certification in audiometry, drug screening, and spirometry upon hire.
