Job description

Crane Worldwide Logistics is a leader in supply chain solutions with over 130 locations across 30 countries providing individual services that address our client's logistics challenges.

The Business Development Executive position is responsible for Promotes and sells company services through direct client contacts via multiple direct and indirect contact channels, works directly with assigned client or group of clients in providing dedicated support, and analyses assigned client financial, performance and market trends to recommend pricing strategies.

Essential Role Functions

  • Develop target list and initiate contact with potential clients through sales phone calls, appropriate social media, promotional flier distribution and cold calling.
  • Confirm appointments to introduce the company and the company’s services to potential clients and build and maintain ongoing relationships.
  • Supports existing clients, acting as intermediary for communication between client and their operations teams and Crane Worldwide network, available for escalation when necessary.
  • Provides tracking information as requested by the client.
  • Escalate all issues with a shipment immediately to the client to insure prompt resolution.
  • Manage all client requests and follow up to ensure that the client needs are met.
  •  Facilitate the completion of RFQ’s.
  • Provide marketing and proposal support for all Global Sales Team members.
  • Analyzes client profit or loss and provides proposals for yield improvement.
  •  Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

  • Talking, hearing and using hands to operate computer equipment.
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Experience Requirements 

  • 1 to 2 years' experience with 3PL or freight forwarder including internal and external facing roles, or
  • 1 to 2 years previous experience in transportation or business development fields

Other Skills & Abilities

  • Strong client-facing skills and effective selling to decision influencers and decision
  • makers with a consultative approach

Education Requirements 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Strong computer usage skills demonstrated capability with suite of Microsoft office.
  • products and active in broad-based internet networking tools, e.g. LinkedIn
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to meet challenges with resourcefulness.
  • Demonstrates effective negotiation and closing techniques.
  • Excellent organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Works well in a team environment
