Job description

The Associate, Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting supports day-to-day accounting operations to ensure accurate financial reporting processing, adherence to technical accounting standards, and timely close activities. This role assists with journal entry preparation, reconciliations, and compliance with accounting standards. The Associate collaborates with management to maintain internal controls and deliver consistent, high-quality financial reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with researching and planning the implementation of new accounting pronouncements.
  • Collaborate with the team to establish accounting memos supporting US and International accounting conclusions and coordinate with external auditors to ensure conclusions are appropriate.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and play a support role in audit requests
  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow) and internal management reports
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, corporate policies, and relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP/IFRS), implementing best practices to test and monitor those controls.
  • Work closely with Manager of Technical Accounting and Compliance to build and monitor internal control program.
  • Assist with maintaining documentation for accounting policies, reconciliations, and technical accounting memos.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in financial reporting or technical accounting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Foundational understanding of GAAP/IFRS and external financial reporting processes.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a proactive approach to learning.
  • Oracle Cloud ERP or similar experience a plus.

Terms / Expected Hours of Work

  • This job posting is for a position with one of the NFL's third-party agency partners that provides services to the NFL. The individual selected for this role will be an employee of that third-party agency and not the NFL. All compensation, benefits, and other terms and conditions of employment are handled by the agency. The assignment to provide services to the NFL will be limited in duration but may be extended for an additional period by agreement between the NFL and the agency.
