Position Overview:
The Assistant, Athletic Trainer supports the daily operation of the Capital City Go-Go training room and provides comprehensive athletic training and personal training services intended to optimize player health, availability, and performance.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform immediate on-site injury evaluations, emergency response/care, preventative taping, wrapping, and bracing during practices, workouts, games and team travel
  • Deliver concise, rapid, and professional updates regarding player availability to Head Athletic Trainer, Performance Staff, Coaching Staff, and Front Office executives.
  • Collaborate with physicians, medical, performance, and coaching staff to coordinate player care, including return-to-play situations.
  • Assist with the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries.
  • Provide preventive treatments, taping, bandaging, and acute/chronic injury or illness care during practices and games.
  • Partner with the Head Athletic Trainer to prepare players and the team for practices and games.
  • Assist with player physicals, assessments, and screening according to departmental standards.
  • Maintain current and comprehensive EMR documentation of player injuries, illnesses, treatments, and rehabilitation.
  • Upload medical records, diagnostic testing, injury information, and rehabilitation information into the NBA G League's EMR/ARMS system.
  • Order and maintain the training room's medical supplies and inventory.
  • Attend league mandated meetings.
  • Travel with the team to provide previously mentioned duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.
  • Master's degree in athletic training.
  • 1+ years of experience working in team sports.
  • Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) in good standing with the National Athletic Training Association Board of Certification (NATABOC).
  • Eligible for or maintaining active state licensure as both a Physical Therapist (PT) and an Athletic Trainer (AT) in Washington DC.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification.
  • Experience with EMR systems.
  • Ability to work within an integrated, multidisciplinary medical and performance team.

Pay Range: $75k - $85k USD.
