Job description

SHADOW is seeking a Jr. Account Executive for its Beauty division. This is a junior-level position for those with 1-2 years of PR experience, who have a base knowledge of the industry, an awareness of our clients in the space, and are looking for an opportunity to prove themselves both creatively and managerially. 

What You Bring:

  • Media placement: You demonstrate a proven ability to craft pitches and secure media placements - this means having your own stable of media contacts and a track record of placing stories in outlets relevant to SHADOW's clients
  • Communications Skills: You possess excellent writing and editing skills, and know how to convert client objectives into clear and digestible storylines for media
  • Leadership Instincts: You are expected to possess inherent leadership qualities and must be ready and willing to teach, direct and delegate proactively and productively.
  • Knowledge of Muckrack or Cision (required) and Fashion GPS (preferred)
  • Bonus: Social Media experience

What You Do:

  • Pitch and place: You are expected to be a media coverage machine who enjoys crafting stories and gets a thrill out of securing press placement. You must constantly generate pitch ideas and drafts, proactively pursue relationships in media, and secure client inclusion in trend stories and roundups, in addition to feature placement. 
  • Lead: Oversee the day-to-day tasks of Account Coordinators and demonstrate an ability to manage and lead. You coach AC's to strengthen their writing and pitching skills, supervise their tasks and hold them accountable, and help AC's generate call agendas that demonstrate an understanding of client priorities and account direction.
