Job description

Mandatory Condition: The candidate should be recent employee of AT&T
Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, terminate, and test fiber optic and copper cabling (CAT6, CAT6a, MPO, etc.).
  • Perform structured cabling tasks, including cable routing, dressing, and labeling for neat and organized installations.
  • Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues related to cabling and fiber optics.
  • Ensure proper power distribution, including rack-level PDU installations, UPS systems, and grounding compliance.
  • Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and upgrades to power and cooling systems within the data center.
  • Collaborate with network engineers and system administrators to support deployments and troubleshoot issues.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and adhere to industry best practices for cabling and power management.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of cable layouts, power circuits, and infrastructure changes.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, ESD precautions, and data center security policies.

Qualifications & Skills:
  • Experience: 6+ years in a data center environment or related field.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of fiber optic splicing, cable termination, and structured cabling standards.
  • Familiarity with BICSI standards and best practices for cabling infrastructure.
  • Experience working with PDUs, UPS systems, and power monitoring tools.
  • Ability to use testing tools such as OTDR, power meters, and cable certifiers.
  • Understanding of rack and stack procedures for servers, switches, and network gear.
  • Certifications (Preferred): BICSI, FOA, CCNA, or equivalent fiber optic/cabling-related certifications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Willingness to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces
