Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Culture
Sault Area Secondary School - Grades 6-12
The Assistant Principal of Curriculum & Culture serves as a key instructional and culture leader for the building. This position is responsible for fostering a positive, inclusive, and engaging school experience for students, staff, and families. The Assistant Principal provides leadership in curriculum and instruction, school culture and climate, student and staff recognition, Title I programming, assessment and data analysis, and family engagement. The position works collaboratively with administrators, teachers, instructional coaches, counselors, support staff, students, and families to ensure high levels of learning, belonging, and success for all students.ย
ย QUALIFICATIONS:ย
Master's Degree or higher with course background in educational administration and/or curriculum development in the field of secondary education.ย
Meet administrator continuing education requirements.ย
Possession of valid Michigan Secondary Teaching Certificate and Administrator's certificate.ย
Minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experience at the secondary level (preferred).ย
Previous experience as a school administrator (preferred).ย
Demonstrated knowledge of current educational issues and practices including school improvement, curriculum, school climate issues, and maintaining a safe learning environment. ย
Expertise in curriculum, instruction, assessment, and data analysis.ย ย
Commitment to fostering belonging, engagement, and positive school culture.ย ย
Strong communication, relationship-building, and collaboration skills.ย ย
Ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives and facilitate meaningful change.ย ย
Experience using data to improve academic and behavioral outcomes.ย ย
Knowledge of Title I programs, school improvement processes, and MTSS frameworks.ย
