Description:


The Montclair Cooperative School seeks a part time, 25 hours per week, Curriculum Coordinator to join our administrative team, effective March 15, 2026. This position reports directly to the Head of School and is a 12 month position. We are seeking a seasoned professional who is committed to progressive education and is able to build relationships with all members of the community. The candidate must have a proven track record with curriculum development in a progressive educational setting.


CURRICULUM COORDINATOR

Overview of Position

The Curriculum Coordinator is responsible for leading and supporting the development, alignment, and implementation of a dynamic and cohesive curriculum across all grade levels . This position plays a key role in promoting academic excellence, ensuring that teaching practices reflect the mission of the school, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Development & Oversight

  • Promote interdisciplinary learning and integration of 21st-century skills. Work closely with the Head of School on the academic and social-emotional curriculum through on-going meetings with individual teachers and in division meetings when requested.
  • Review and maintain curriculum maps to ensure consistency, coherence, and alignment with school goals and standards.
  • Revised and update the curriculum guide annually
    Support teachers in selecting instructional materials and resources.
  • Coordinate curriculum reviews and revisions on a regular cycle.
  • Collaborate with the Head of School, the Director of Enrollment Management and faculty to support ongoing admissions efforts.

Teacher Support & Professional Development

  • Identify professional development needs and communicate them to the Head of School
  • Guide new faculty on instructional planning and curriculum delivery.

  • Assessment & Data Analysis
  • Collaborate and support faculty and the Learning Support Team in the development and use of formative and summative assessments.Help to develop benchmarks and standards for academic progress

Program Coordination & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with applicable accreditation standards and curriculum guidelines.
  • Coordinate with specialists (e.g., learnin g support, enrichment, DEI, etc.) to ensure curriculum is inclusive and accessible.
Requirements:


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in education or a related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in an elementary school setting
  • Experience with curriculum development, assessment, and teacher coaching
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education
