QUALIFICATIONS:ย 

  • Bachelor's Degree required (education or related field preferred), with two years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish positive and professional relationships with youth and adults.
  • Demonstrated high level of organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with current technology for performance of duties including Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:ย 

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive mentor recruitment plan to attract, screen, and retain qualified volunteer mentors reflective of the school community.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between mentors, students, families, school staff, and community partners, ensuring consistent and effective communication.
  • Collaborate with the school's Student Support Team to identify students who would benefit from mentoring services and facilitate appropriate referrals.
  • Interview, screen, and train prospective mentors in accordance with district policies, including background checks and onboarding requirements.
  • Appropriately match approved mentors with students based on individual needs, interests, and program goals.
  • Provide ongoing support and supervision to mentoring matches through regular monthly contact (in-person, phone, or virtual), ensuring positive and productive relationships.
  • Monitor match progress and intervene as needed to address challenges, ensuring student safety and program fidelity.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date records for all mentors and mentees, including applications, background checks, consent forms, match documentation, and contact logs.
  • Utilize designated data systems (e.g., district databases) to track participation, services, outcomes, and program effectiveness.
  • Collect, analyze, and report program data throughout the school year; prepare and submit monthly reports to school and district leadership.
  • Collaborate with district mentoring coordinators to plan, coordinate, and implement mentoring related events, trainings, and recognition activities for mentors and students.
  • Recruit and enroll eligible students into the mentoring program; obtain and maintain required permissions and documentation.
  • Connect students and families with appropriate school and community-based resources to support academic, social, and emotional needs.
  • Build and sustain partnerships with community organizations, businesses, and stakeholders to enhance mentoring opportunities and program capacity.
  • Support school-wide initiatives related to student engagement, attendance, behavior, and social-emotional development.
  • Assist in the administration and coordination of relevant surveys (e.g., Kentucky Incentives for Prevention Survey) and other evaluation tools.
  • Ensure compliance with all district policies, safety procedures, and confidentiality requirements related to student services and volunteer programs.
  • Participate in and contribute to meetings, including but not limited to:
  • Department of Community & Family Engagement meetings.
  • Mentoring program meetings and Professional Learning Communities (PLCs).
  • Student Support Team meetings.
  • School staff meetings and professional development sessions.
  • Collaborate with department and school staff to support broader family and community engagement efforts.
  • Engage in continuous program evaluation and improvement to enhance outcomes for students and mentors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

RESPONSIBLE TO: ย ย Director of Community & Family Engagement/Building Principal

CONTRACT: ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  220 Days

SALARY: ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  $211.03 - $308.69/daily; depending on qualifications and experience
