About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Retail Field Deployment Project Manager for a 6-9-month contract to lead the deployment of our hardware and software temperature monitoring solution for a national retail customer. The role includes managing procurement, logistics, installation, documentation, and vendor coordination. Success will mean delivering the project on time, on budget, and with strong communication across internal teams, vendors, and the customer.

Commitment Details

  • Term: Approximately 6-9 months (possibility of extension)
  • Location: Remote in US (EST or CST time zones - preference for EST) with up to 20% domestic travel  
  • Employment Type: Full-time temporary employee (40+ hrs per week)

Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership & Tracking
    • Manage overall project schedule, scope, and budget across a 6-month deployment
    • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and trackers to provide clear visibility for internal and customer stakeholders.
    • Monitor risks and proactively address and mitigate issues to keep the project on track
  • Customer Engagement Support
    • Partner with PMO and Customer Success leads to prepare for and support customer meetings
    • Develop and update dashboards for weekly project updates with the customer
    • Ensure all project documentation is clear, complete, and customer-ready
  • Vendor Coordination & Management
    • Coordinate with the hardware vendor on end-to-end procurement, including batched orders, delivery timing, and payment schedules
    • Work closely with our nationwide installer partner to manage deployment schedules, address field issues urgently, and ensure timely execution
    • Verify close-out documentation is completed for all sites and partner with internal stakeholders at Ndustrial and vendors to drive alignment and quick solutions as issues arise 
    • Track and validate vendor invoices for accuracy prior to submission to accounting
  • Execution & Delivery
    • Ensure the deployment process is efficient, well-documented, and repeatable for scale
    • Drive collaboration across internal teams to resolve challenges quickly and maintain project momentum
    • Maintain a high standard of accuracy, accountability, and professionalism in all project deliverables
    • Recommend best practices for continuous improvement on delivery throughout engagement 

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of project management experience, preferably in large-scale deployments (3,000+ site installation projects)
  • Proven success managing large-scale, prototype-based installations across distributed retail customers
  • Experience developing and managing dashboards, reporting, and metrics for high volume nationwide rollouts with internal and external teams, and customers
  • Experience supporting the physical installation of IoT and/or hardware enabled SaaS solutions
  • Strong background in procurement, logistics, or vendor management
  • Experience coordinating with both hardware vendors and field installation teams
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to prepare clear reporting for internal and customer audiences
  • Proficiency in collaborative and asynchronous project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Jira, Google Suite, or similar)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, validate invoices, and track project financials
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on, solution-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work in a Full-time temporary position with an anticipated 6-9 month project duration
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
