Description:

Background

Our mission is to advance the low-carbon future and restore nature with market-based solutions. We offer comprehensive services spanning environmental asset innovation, ESG and climate strategy consulting, regulatory and policy advisory, environmental credits, API solutions, and climate action certification programs.

We are steadfastly committed to educating and empowering our clients, no matter where they are in their sustainability journey, to be confident in a rapidly evolving marketplace.

ClimeCo is seeking a contractor project coordinator, IT, for our Information Technology team. This position will be remote, with opportunities for hybrid based on location.

Position Description

ClimeCo is seeking a detail-oriented IT Project Coordinator to join our Technology and Innovation team. This role is designed to provide critical administrative and operational support to the IT Manager and VP, ensuring that our technology initiatives are tracked, documented, and executed on schedule.

The ideal candidate is a highly organized individual who excels at task management, documentation, and maintaining project momentum within a distributed, all-remote workforce. You will serve as the 'connective tissue' for our projects, helping to organize communication across time zones and ensuring our project management tools remain accurate and up-to-date.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support end-to-end IT project delivery by maintaining project schedules, task lists, and timelines.
  • Assist IT leadership in monitoring concurrent projects involving enterprise platforms, software development, and compliance.
  • Document business and technical requirements during stakeholder meetings and ensure they are clearly captured in project management tools.
  • Coordinate logistics and scheduling with internal developers and third-party vendors to ensure project milestones are visible.
  • Help maintain project documentation in systems such as Confluence, Basecamp, and/or Notion, ensuring that status reports and risk registers are accurately updated.
  • Flag potential delays, resource conflicts, or dependencies to the IT Manager, Development Director, or Technology VP for timely resolution.
  • Facilitate team meetings by preparing agendas, taking detailed meeting minutes, and following up on actionable next steps.
  • Help manage asynchronous communication across time zones to ensure remote teams have the information they need to stay productive.
  • Monitor project alignment with security standards and operational goals as directed by leadership.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in a Project Coordination or Junior Project Management role within an IT environment.
  • Strong proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Asana, Monday.com, Notion, Basecamp, or similar).
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to track multiple moving parts across different workstreams.
  • Proven experience working in a remote or distributed team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize technical discussions for non-technical audiences.
  • A proactive approach to following up on deadlines and 'closing the loop' on outstanding tasks.
  • Familiarity with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and basic cloud platform concepts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting software development projects (Python/JavaScript environments).
  • Familiarity with compliance-related projects (SOC 2 or ISO standards).
  • Interest in or background supporting ESG, sustainability, or carbon markets.
  • Experience with enterprise systems including NetSuite, Salesforce, or Azure.
  • CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management) or similar foundational certification.
