Job description

Who is Sonar?

Sonar is driving the future of agent-centric software development. As the leader in AI code verification and governance, we solve a critical problem: ensuring that software generated by AI-assisted developers or autonomous agents is reliable, secure, and maintainable.

Integrating seamlessly with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini, and Devin, we help over 75% of the Fortune 100 build trusted, reliable, compliant software. Customers who use Sonar are 44% less likely to report an outage due to AI-generated code.

We believe code verification is the critical missing link in the Agent-Centric Development Cycle (AC/DC). Industry giants like Nvidia, ServiceNow, Booking.com, Goldman Sachs, AstraZeneca, and Ford Motor Company count on us to provide independent, explainable, consistent review and governance of their AI-generated code via products like:

  • SonarQube: The world's leading AI code review and verification platform.

  • SonarQube Foundation Agent: Currently topping the leaderboards for agentic software repair.

  • SonarSweep & Sonar Context Augmentation: Providing the enterprise-grade context and constraints agents need to be truly effective.

Our team operates across global hubs in Austin, Bochum, Dubai, Geneva, London, San Mateo (California), Singapore, Tokyo, and Washington D.C. We move with a mindset we call CODE:

  • Committed to our customers and community.

  • Obsessed with quality.

  • Deliberate in our decisions.

  • Effective as one team.

With over $400M in revenue and profitable, fast-paced growth, we are building the backbone of the AI software revolution. If you're hungry to have an impact, want to build at a fast pace, and ready to work at the forefront of AI, we want to hear from you.

Position description

Lead the day-to-day execution and continuous improvement of HR Operations programs and services across our global footprint, ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery in every region we operate in. Based in Austin, TX, this role partners closely with the Director of HR Operations to translate global strategy into reliable, well-governed execution, while managing regional nuances in compliance, process, and talent experience.

What you will do
  • Support the refinement, and optimization of global service offerings, using operational data from multiple geographies to identify improvement opportunities.

  • Work closely with HR Operations Specialists across regions to guide priorities, share best practices, and ensure consistent, high-quality execution - modeling hands-on excellence rather than managing through formal authority.

  • Build strong, credible relationships with internal partners worldwide (HR Operations Specialists, HRBPs, Recruiting, Payroll, Legal, IT) to ensure smooth, consistent execution of HR processes across regions.

  • Provide detailed, well-organized analysis and reporting to enable confident, informed decision-making by HR leadership-and by you!

  • Maintain strong operational governance globally by ensuring policies, processes, and procedures are documented, locally adapted where required, and consistently applied.

  • Maintain working knowledge of employment compliance, regulations, and laws across multiple countries/regions, partnering with Legal and local experts, and escalating risk areas to the Director as needed.

  • Identify and resolve day-to-day operational issues across geographies, escalating complex or cross-border matters to the Director of HR Operations.

  • Track key global operational metrics and report performance against goals, highlighting regional trends and outliers.

  • Coordinate with team members across time zones to ensure "follow-the-sun" coverage and consistent service levels for a global employee population.

Experience and qualifications

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Bring significant, progressive experience in HR Operations or a related HR function in a tech company, including experience supporting multiple countries/regions.

  • Possess up to date knowledge of multi-jurisdictional HR compliance, employment law, and regulatory requirements, with a demonstrated track record of identifying and mitigating compliance risk without needing to escalate routine matters.

  • Have strong analytical skills with the ability to translate global operational data into clear, actionable insights.

  • Demonstrate excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence cross-functionally and across cultures/time zones.

  • Be a true self-starter and "doer" - comfortable rolling up their sleeves, driving execution independently, and making sound judgment calls with minimal oversight.

  • Be comfortable with periodic travel to connect with international team members.

  • Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deliver high quality work in a fun, fast-paced, evolving global environment.

In-office culture

We're intentional about this. We believe the best teams are built in the room together. Three anchor days - Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays - create the collaboration rhythm that makes a hub office worth having.

Candidates need to be genuinely based in the location the role is posted  - if that's not where you are today, we're open to considering relocation assistance for the right person.

We value diversity, equity, and inclusion

At Sonar, we believe that our diversity is our strength. We are a global company that values and respects different backgrounds, perspectives, and cultures. We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute their best. We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and welcome all qualified applicants, regardless of race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status.

If you need any accommodation, please reach out to us at [email protected].

All offers of employment at Sonar are contingent upon the results of a comprehensive background check and reference verification conducted before the start date.

Applications that are submitted through agencies or third party recruiters will not be considered.
