Greeting Card Association Louie Awards Intern

Position: Louie Awards Intern

Location: Remote with potential travel to event location

Duration: 6 months (with potential for extension)

Hours: Part-time (up to 10 hours per week)

About Us: The Greeting Card Association's Louie Awards, managed by Civica Associations, celebrates creativity, artistry, and innovation in the greeting card industry. The Louie Awards have been the gold standard for excellence in greeting cards for over three decades. As we continue to honor outstanding achievements in the industry, we are seeking a dynamic, creative, and detail-oriented intern to join our team and play a pivotal role in orchestrating the 2025 Louie Awards.

Position Overview: As the Louie Awards Intern, you will have a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in event planning and project management while guiding the Louie Awards from entry submissions to the awards night. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about the arts, loves event planning, and wants to make a meaningful impact in the greeting card industry. You will work closely with the Louie Awards committee, Civica Associations staff, and industry professionals to ensure the seamless execution of the awards.

Location: The successful applicant must be based in or near metro Denver and specifically Centennial, the location of the association's headquarters.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Entry Management:
  • Assist in developing and managing the entry submission process, ensuring all entries are accurately logged and categorized.
  • Communicate with entrants to provide guidelines, answer questions, and assist with any entry-related issues.
  • Coordinate with the judging panel to ensure all entries are reviewed and scored according to established criteria.
  1. Judging Coordination:
  • Organize and facilitate judging sessions, both virtual and in-person, ensuring all logistics are handled smoothly.
  • Compile and summarize judging results, maintaining strict confidentiality and integrity throughout the process.
  • Assist in selecting finalists and preparing materials for public announcements.
  1. Event Planning and Coordination:
  • Collaborate with the event planning team to develop a comprehensive plan for the awards ceremony, including venue selection, theme development, and programming.
  • Assist with the production of event materials, such as invitations, programs, and signage.
  • Coordinate with vendors, sponsors, and partners to ensure all event logistics are executed according to plan.
  1. Marketing and Promotion:
  • Work with the marketing team to create content for social media, newsletters, and other communication channels to promote the Louie Awards and engage with the community.
  • Assist in developing promotional strategies to increase awareness and participation in the awards.
  1. On-Site Event Support:
  • Provide on-site support during the awards ceremony, including managing registration, coordinating with speakers and performers, and assisting with technical logistics.
  • Ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all attendees, handling any last-minute issues that arise.

  • Assist in the preparation of post-event reports, including feedback analysis and recommendations for future awards.
