Job Description
The Dome is seeking Part-Time Concert Event Staff to work on an as needed basis for major events in the 2026-2027 academic (June 2026 through May 2027) season.
As a member of the Dome Concert Event Staff Team, you will be part of Syracuse University's Major Concert events, working in coordination with the JMA Dome's regular part time Event Staff.
Education and Experience
  • Must successfully complete background check.
  • Current NYS Security Guard License holders preferred but not required.

Skills and Knowledge
  • Applicants must be flexible and able to work events that on average last between 6 and 8 hours.
  • Events take place on nights, weekends, and some holidays.
  • You are expected to be available to work all major concert events.
  • Previous Concert and large-scale events experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain access control by screening all guests entering the Stadium using a variety of metal detecting equipment and technology.
  • Uphold Clear Bag Policy, and perform bag checks upon patron entry in compliance with policy.
  • Monitor crowd entering for prohibited items.
  • Monitor areas within the stadium to ensure guests comply with building policy, such as, Concert Stages, stairs leading to the Concert floor, Concert Barricades, GA Pit Entrances, Artist walkways, backstage locations, and other areas as needed based on the Concert configuration and tour needs.
  • Assist with undesired behavior and disturbances in the stadium.
  • Provide a safe and pleasant environment for all guests.
  • Aid in the direction of orderly evacuation of the building.
  • In all situations, perform duties in a courteous and professional manner.

Physical Requirements
  • You must be able to stand and walk during an entire event in a stadium environment.
  • Sometimes Event Staff Team Members are required to set up/take down chairs (must be able to lift/carry up to 25 pounds) or push guests in a wheelchair.
  • Must be able to work Outside in variable weather conditions.

Tools/Equipment
  • Metal Detecting Wands/Equipment.
  • Portable Radio.
  • PPE will be provided and required to wear if needed.
  • The specifics will be based on job duties.
