Mammography Technologist

The Mammography Technologist ensures high-quality mammographic exams to ensure compassionate, patient-focused procedures in a professional and highly skilled manner.

*This position offers a $10,000 hiring bonus for eligible new hires.

Job duties:

  • Performs high quality digital Tomosynthesis mammography exams for interpretation.
  • Ensures that all ARRT, ACR and MQSA standards are met using excellent positioning skills.
  • Assists Mammography Supervisor by maintaining quality assurance requirements in accordance with the ACR and MQSA standards that include but are not limited to: weekly detector flat field calibration, weekly artifact evaluation, weekly phantom images, weekly SNR measurements, weekly viewing conditions, biweekly compression indicator, quarterly repeat / reject analysis, and semiannual geometry calibration and compression.
  • Make independent decisions regarding quality mammographic images.
  • Reports any changes in quality assurance testing or quality of the mammographic image by contacting Mammography Supervisor and / or Field Service Engineer.
  • Provides protection for patients and self in accordance with prescribed safety standards that include consistent and established policy on reject / repeat measurements and follows the state's regulatory Radiation Protection Laws.
  • Makes conscious effort provide quality mammography with compassion and the least amount of discomfort as possible.
Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Associates degree in radiology required, bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Current license with the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging required.
  • Registered and in good standing with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Advanced certificate in mammography required.
  • Current CPR or BLS certification required.
