Job Tittle: Cloud Engineer
Location: Ashburn, VA
Job Description
Responsible for the design, implementation, and management of scalable cloud and network storage solutions, this role involves working closely with third-party cloud service providers like AWS, Azure, and others to ensure open, accessible, and secure environments for external users. The position encompasses primary responsibilities as a network administrator for virtual servers and cloud networks, including the installation of security patches across various system stages from development to production. Additionally, this role conducts thorough analysis for planning, designing, and evaluating IT tools to diagnose and resolve issues, while also overseeing the maintenance, monitoring, and security of all servers. This includes managing configurations to meet security standards and customer requirements, providing support for cloud storage and backup, and delivering data-driven recommendations for system enhancements and business continuity.
Education and Years of Experience
Typically has a Bachelors degree, and 6 - 8 years of experience, or equivalent relevant work experience; e.g., each year of work experience may be substituted for each year of education required.
Required Skills
At least five (5) years of hands-on experience in network design, network engineering, and network operational support. • Associate, Solutions Architect, or equivalent training for various CSPs (e.g., AWS and Azure). • Minimum two (2) years of experience in Cloud services and connectivity. • Experience deploying, monitoring, and maintaining CSP resources. • Knowledge and experience in, but not limited to, routing, switching, firewall, network load balancing, TIC 3.0, traffic optimization, DNS/DHCP, and cloud monitoring and management tools. • Knowledge and experience in, but not limited to, Cloud programming languages for various CSPs, such as AWS Lambda and GCP Cloud Functions, are preferred.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge with the following: Multi cloud: AWS, Cloudflare, Oracle, Azure, GCP TIC 3.0 controls (policy enforcement, trust zones, micro-segmentation, DNSSEC, IDS/IPS, EINSTEIN, SOAR, CLAW); Direct Connect/ExpressRoute Cloud WAF / Firewalls Cloud KPIs / dashboards Experience creating VPC / VNets Performance monitoring & Alerting
