This is your chance to be a part of an in-house Technology team that's creating consumer-facing, cutting-edge technologies revolutionizing the hospitality industry around the world! As a Senior Software Engineer, you will bring your technical skills to a hospitality company with an award-winning culture. On the Software Engineering Team reporting to the Senior Manager Software Engineering Content, you will support projects including Hilton.com and several customer-facing applications

What you'll do during a typical day:

  • Develop and deliver content-driven features for Hilton's websites, including feature development, code review, writing unit tests and bug fixes.
  • Customize and extend the builtin capabilities of the Content Management System.
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues promptly.
  • Optimize application performance, scalability, and security.
  • Operate within the established Agile framework to provide industryleading frontend web solutions with quality and performance.

How you'll collaborate with others:

  • Collaborate with architects, product owners, delivery managers, quality engineers, designers, and other developers to design and implement the Hilton web application experience.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including grooming sessions, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and code reviews.

Projects you'll take ownership of:

  • Deliver highquality, maintainable, and thoroughly documented code enhancements, along with meaningful contributions to reusable code libraries.
  • Create and maintain unit tests, integration tests, and automated test suites.
  • Ensure that applications satisfy established performance, security, and reliability standards.
What It Takes to Make the Stay

You have these minimum qualifications:

  • Three (3) years of professional work experience in Technology or related field
  • Three (3) years of experience developing large-scale web applications using Java, microservices, multi-threaded programming with an understanding of web design patterns
  • Experience NoSQL databases (Couchbase, MongoDB), messaging architectures (Kafka, Redis, etc.), and front-end UI frameworks such as React, HTML, and CSS
  • Knowledge of Atlassian tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence), Docker, and using Git as version control with a team
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools to improve efficiency and quality
  • This is a hybrid role and would require to be near one of our three US office locations (McLean, Dallas, or Memphis)
  • Travel up to 10%

It would be useful if you have:

  • Bachelor's Degree, or associate's degree plus 5 years of Technology related experience, or High School Degree/GED plus 12 years of Technology related experience
  • Five (5) years of work experience in Technology or a related field
  • Content Management System professional certifications
  • Experience building RESTful APIs and understanding of REST principles
