Job Title: Software Developer and DevOps Engineer
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Location: Frederick, Maryland. Local candidates preferred.
Employment Type: W-2 or 1099. Corp to Corp not accepted.
Engagement Type: Contract, task order based
Final Interview: In person

Position Summary

Dhaka Technologies Limited Company is hiring for a Software Developer and DevOps Engineer on behalf of its client. This is an onsite, task order based consulting role supporting a large public sector organization across multiple departments.

The engineer builds, integrates, and supports the applications and automation arising from assigned task orders, covering application development, API and systems integration, deployment pipelines, and automation that reduces manual effort for client staff. Placement is contingent upon contract award.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain applications and integrations supporting client operational needs
  • Build and support APIs and interfaces connecting departmental systems, including ERP and enterprise asset management platforms
  • Design and maintain CI and CD pipelines and infrastructure as code for client environments
  • Automate manual processes identified during business process analysis engagements
  • Support application deployment, configuration management, monitoring, and release coordination
  • Apply secure development practices and support remediation of findings from security reviews
  • Produce technical documentation covering code, configurations, deployment procedures, and handover instructions
  • Provide Tier 3 support for applications developed or supported under the contract
  • Coordinate with data engineering staff on integration points and data flows
  • Maintain availability for client consultation between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM Eastern, Monday through Friday, respond to inquiries within one business day, and respond to urgent requests within four hours

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum five years of professional software development experience
  • Proficiency in at least one major language such as Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript and TypeScript
  • Demonstrated experience designing and consuming REST APIs and building system integrations
  • Hands on experience with CI and CD tooling and with version control in Git
  • Experience deploying and operating workloads in AWS or Azure
  • Working knowledge of containerization and orchestration such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Ability to report onsite in Frederick, Maryland on the schedule required by the assigned task order

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting a government client at the federal, state, county, or municipal level
  • Experience with ERP or enterprise asset management system integration
  • Familiarity with secure coding standards and application security testing
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform
  • Currently residing in the Frederick, Maryland area or the surrounding region

Certifications

One or more of the following is preferred. Copies of all certificates must be provided with your application:

  • AWS Certified Developer, Associate or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Professional
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator
  • CompTIA Security+

Compensation

$46.00 to $62.00 per hour, depending on experience and certifications. Benefits vary by employment classification and are discussed during the interview process.
