Our people are the heart of our mission. Across our headquarters in California, Maryland, and offices in Orlando, FL, and San Diego, CA, you'll find a diverse and driven team committed to making a real impact for our Nation's Warfighters.
If you're ready to grow your skills, be challenged by meaningful work, and contribute to something bigger...this is where you belong.
Come do work that matters. Join AMEWAS.
The Position:
AMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Software Developer and Integrator (JSE)-Journeyman to support Battlespace Modeling & Simulation. The salary range of this position is $115,800.00 - $165,600.00 and is commensurate with experience. This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required.
About the location:

Position Background:
The Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) Patuxent River is the enterprise-wide center of excellence for developing the DoD's premier modern warfare training and operational test bed system. JSE is a world class simulation experience for the warfighter. This simulation requires multiple software products to be integrated and work seamlessly together to provide the required warfighter need. The JSE software structure has products grouped into two groups, the first being JSE Technical Baseline (JTB) which is the group of products that creates the high-fidelity environment of the simulation. The second group is the JSE Platform Packages (JPP). This is the group of products that allow for platform simulations to be able to integrate into the simulation environment. As an Integrator, you will work amongst a team to integrate new versions of JSE Software products. Once integrated, you will then conduct integration testing on the newly integrated version and provide test results that will decide if the baseline of JSE Software is ready to move to the next level of testing. This position requires the ability to be the integration team's Subject Matter Expert for Lua. In JSE, Lua is used with all products which allows them to be started and maintained by the Simulation Control Executive (SCE) while in operation. When issues arise with different product's Lua code or simply integration issues with Lua code, this position will be required to be able to understand the issue and define it in a clear way so that concise feedback is able to be given back to product teams. This position requires the ability to be the integration team's Subject Matter Expert for JSE DevOps. While JSE has a DevOps team, this position will be required to work closely with that team and have a full understanding of how JSE's Dev Ops processes work. This will allow for the SME to troubleshoot issues with deployment or Ansible if there are issues seen as integration occurs. The SME should be able to thoroughly characterize any deployment needs of the integration team or the JSE SW teams to the Dev Ops team concisely so that Dev Ops can fully act on the feedback. As well as new changes that occur with the deployment process. The SME should be able to understand the system so they can brief the rest of the integration team as changes occur and are observed.
A typical day as a Software Developer and Integrator (JSE)-Journeyman may include:
  • Integrates software releases into JSE development cycles and DevOps project layouts
  • Understands dependencies of JSE products and their relationships to other products
