Job description

Principal Associate, Capital Markets & Risk - Systems Analyst
The Treasury Systems & Business Solutions team, a department within Treasury that falls under Capital Markets and Risk organization, consists of business process and system experts who are passionate about creating a simple, well-integrated and intelligent solution that enables superior decision making and best-in-class execution, operations, and risk management for the Treasury department. We are responsible for maintaining Treasury software applications that support both business users and data consumers, while influencing strategic technology decisions. Working back from business imperatives, and internal customer needs, we lead Agile teams to implement new products for Treasury, develop new capabilities, and deliver high quality data.
We are looking for a Principal Analyst to work with the team and Agile pod in delivering cloud-based solutions for the overall business intent through close collaboration across internal partners. This role will be responsible for leading the necessary customer interviews and analysis to ground the problems to be solved, running impact analysis, and working with Agile teams to define, test and implement solutions. The Principal Analyst will also be responsible for delivering and ensuring the integrity of all data changed or produced as a result of any new intent delivery.
General Responsibilities:
  • Define solutions (requirements, designs, services, recommendations) to business/systems problems
  • Liaison between tech and business SMEs to translate business requirements into highly specified project briefs
  • Partner with consumers, business SMEs, and source system teams to analyze, internalize, and translate business requirements and source data to develop: data requirements for upstream source systems, source to target mapping, data quality requirements, processing requirements (business rules, aggregation, transformation), user acceptance test cases, negative test scenarios
  • Prepare systems analysis documentation/specifications
  • Identify roadblocks to projected timeline and present possible solutions
  • Ensure solution integrity through user acceptance testing (UAT) and finalize disposition of solution for business as usual (BAU) acceptance
  • Responsible for various support functions including assisting core system users, downstream systems issues and responding to internal/external audit requests
  • Responsible for the development, maintenance, management, and delivery of technical information or documentation
  • Own the design of configuration changes needed within Treasury's Cash Management system Quantum
  • Manage inter-team and technology dependencies to mitigate project and product risks
  • Support the Product Owner with prioritization, road map development, and test coordination

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 4 years of experience working in a business system analysis role
  • At least 3 years of experience with Capital Markets, Treasury, Payments or Cash Management (such as Quantum or other Cash Management tools) or a combination

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA or Master's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering
  • 3+ years' experience designing and conducting unit testing
  • 3+ years' experience with SQL, Python, or a combination
  • 3+ years' experience of experience in Agile methodologies
  • 1+ year of experience working with AWS

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $131,300 - $149,800 for Principal Analyst, Capital Mkts & Risk
Richmond, VA: $119,400 - $136,200 for Principal Analyst, Capital Mkts & Risk
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
