Position Summary... What you'll do...Role summary:
As a Technical Duty Officer (TDO) within the Global Technology (GT) CCC team you will work with other CCC, SRE, DevOps and Engineering practitioners to pro-actively maintain mission-critical infrastructure, cloud platforms, micro-services, tools, and processes that will ensure highest levels of availability and reliability of Walmart’s technology stack.

The Global Technology CCC team collaborates closely with SRE, DevOps, and Engineering professionals to maintain and enhance Walmart’s critical infrastructure and cloud platforms. The team focuses on ensuring high availability and reliability of complex distributed systems through proactive incident management and technical leadership. Members apply expertise in platform engineering, software design, and cloud-native architecture to support scalable, resilient solutions. Emphasizing data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement, the team drives innovation and operational excellence to uphold Walmart’s technology standards and deliver seamless service to customers worldwide.
What you'll do:
  • Control incident management processes and procedures.
  • Excellent end to end technical understanding of core infrastructure, cloud services, platforms and micro-services.
  • Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap milestones and domain priorities.
  • Drive full software development lifecycle activities such as coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
  • Apply cloud-native architecture principles to ensure scalable, resilient, and agile systems.
  • Build AI-driven applications integrating ML components and automation features.
  • Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering excellence.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements and track success metrics.
  • Continuously improve processes, tools, and products through innovation and feedback integration.

What you'll bring:
  • Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation to ensure scalable and resilient systems.
  • Strong experience in software development lifecycle management, encompassing coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in API design, software prototyping, and applying software design patterns for secure, modular, and maintainable solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability in platform engineering, infrastructure tooling, and DevOps practices to enhance engineering productivity.
  • Skilled in data-driven decision making and problem solving to define metrics and optimize development processes.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and influencing architectural decisions to promote technical excellence.
