Fiduciary Trust International is hiring an experienced Relationship Associate / Trust Administrator to serve as a critical member of our Wilmington, DE market team when it comes to trust administration and providing Trust Officer and Manager support. This is a hybrid role with two to three days in office.

Key Responsibilities:


Trust Administration -

  • Manage cash balances to prevent overdrafts; act as cash manager for and coordinate with Portfolio Manager on raising cash to cure overdrafts.
  • Ensure data on trust summary sheets is accurate and up to date.
  • Prepare Discretionary Action Memorandums and arrange for beneficiary distributions.
  • Arrange for the timely payment of trust expenses.
  • Work with outside tax preparers to ensure tax filings and payments are made timely. Obtain tax documents, as applicable (K1).
  • Facilitate and implement investment and/or distribution directions for directed trusts.
  • Arrange for the funding of trust accounts in facilitating payment of expenses and distributions.
  • Participates in annual account reviews.
  • Assists in remediation efforts and with special projects.
  • Maintains solid working knowledge of internal policies/procedures regarding fiduciary and administrative issues.
  • Demonstrates solid ability to interpret and apply terms of governing instrument.

Client Service -

  • Provide excellent client service to internal partners and high-net-worth (HNW) clients.
  • Manage all follow-up and/or ongoing client service deliverables.
  • Communicate with other areas within the company (Legal, Marketing, Operations, Investment Management, Estate Administration, Compliance, Account Services) to meet deliverables.
  • Support Trust Officers on various types of client service matters.
Ideal Qualifications:

Education and Experience -

  • 4 + years' trust experience
  • Progress towards Trust school (e.g. Cannon Trust School) a plus
  • Understanding of investments, trust, and estates
  • Proficient with SEI / Global Plus or other trust accounting software preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities -

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with clients and internal partners
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle client account information
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint
