Job description

Duties Description The Health Program Administrator (HPA) will assist providers in resolving problems by interpreting vaccine program guidelines and regulations; provide information; respond to routine correspondence and inquiries; and gathering information as needed. The incumbent will demonstrate their understanding of existing federal and State laws, rules and regulations, requirements, and procedures pertaining to the federal Vaccines for Children (VFC), Program and NYS Vaccines for Adults (VFA), and program to ensure provider compliance. They will also review and process updates to provider's agreements in the New York State Immunization Information System (NYSIIS).

The HPA will conduct outreach to providers that have not complied with the NYS regulations and requirement; track and process annual provider recertifications or annual review surveys; conduct outreach to providers that have not complied with these requirements; and prepare and contribute to reports, policies, procedures, guidance, trainings, and correspondence concerning program standards for providers. The incumbent will track and process new provider enrollment submissions for participation in the Vaccines for Children, Vaccines for Adults, and special initiatives. Minimum Qualifications Permanent transfer candidates: Current Department of Health (DOH) employee with permanent or contingent-permanent status as a Health Program Administrator (G18); OR current NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service in a title eligible to transfer under Section 52.6, Section 70.1, or Section 70.4 of the Civil Service Law to a Health Program Administrator (G18), Health Program Administrator Trainee 1 (NS), or Health Program Administrator Trainee 2 (NS)

Health Program Administrator Trainee 2: Five years of experience in the administration, supervision, and oversight of agency programs including but not limited to the design, implementation, administration, management, operation, and assessment of program effectiveness. Health Program Administrator: Six years of experience in the administration, supervision, and oversight of agency programs including but not limited to the design, implementation, administration, management, operation, and assessment of program effectiveness. Substitutions for all levels: An associate degree may substitute for two years of experience; a bachelor's degree may substitute for four years of experience; a master's degree may substitute for five years of experience; and a doctorate may substitute for six years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate will possess excellent written and oral communication skills. They will have a strong background in customer service and working within a team. They will be able to produce a high level of accuracy when working with details and following procedures; the ability to multitask and readily reprioritize tasks; and proficiency using and entering information into online database systems.
