The Associate Product Manager supports new product strategy and commercialization across a portfolio of brand and private label retail customers for the Company. This position makes an immediate impact with diverse experience across vitamin, mineral, supplement, sports nutrition, and food customers. The Associate Product Manager is a member of the cross-functional team and supports new product launches through project management, product development, claims support, packaging/label design, and marketing & sampling coordination activities.
Estimated starting annual base salary is $89,868.19 - $134,802.29 per year less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a bi-weekly basis. Please note that the actual compensation offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined by the Company, which may include, but is not limited to, location, experience, qualifications, education, skillset, and market conditions. The target base compensation for this role is in the low to middle of the range, with the top of the range reserved for only exceptional circumstances. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary, variable annual incentive, paid based on Company performance factors. SCN BestCo offers a competitive benefits package to eligible full-time employees, which currently includes medical, dental, and vision plans, 401(k) with employer matching contributions, life insurance, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and more, as well as paid sick leave in accordance with applicable law. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead internal cross-functional teams across Research & Development, Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, Quality, and Regulatory to deliver fast paced, highly incremental innovation growth, with customer management support responsibilities.
  • Partner with external sales teams, product managers, and retailers on launch of new products including product development, cost optimization, shelf-life validation, claims development, document development, and packaging/label design. This includes coordinating questionnaires, product specifications, stability data, samples, Certificate of Analysis (COA), Quality Assurance (QA), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) audit reports, Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA), lab test results, item features, and benefits.
  • Manage several projects, often at different stages, including developing plans, coordinating timelines, and managing multi-functional tasks to ensure that goals or objectives of projects are accomplished on time.
  • Work with sales teams to build and enhance selling tools and stories to sell-in close and new platforms to customers.
  • Work with sales and product management team members to identify customer-specific product opportunities across brands and retailers through customer analyses, point of sales data (i.e. Nielsen), trends, and consumer insights.
  • Assist sales team in building business cases and strategic rationale for pursuing new innovations including opportunity assessment, financial impact, pricing strategy, and feasibility analysis.
  • Coordinate marketing projects, often at different stages, including developing plans, coordinating timelines, and managing multi-functional tasks to ensure that goals or objectives of projects are accomplished on time.
  • Coordinate all customer samples including sourcing, labeling, shipping, and related documentation.
  • Coordinate trade shows including sample coordination, hotel booking, tracking shipments of all materials, and maintaining trade show supplies and equipment.
  • Prepare and plan for customer visits.

Required Qualifications
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or related field, or commensurate combination of education and work experience.
  • 2 years' experience in marketing and/or innovation in the consumer products industry.
  • Experience working in an entrepreneurial, dynamic environment including the ability to build structures and processes.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs):
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills; ability to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels and gain reputation as a trusted leader, advisor, and business partner.
  • Proven track record demonstrating strong financial/cost management skills and the ability to meet budget commitments.
  • Proven ability to lead, direct and integrate cross-functional, cross-organizational, multi-disciplinary and/or virtual project teams to meet business objectives.
  • Ability to drive and appropriately prioritize requirements and activities.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience within the CPG, health supplements, and/or OTC pharmaceutical industries.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish.
