Associate Product Manager

We are looking for an independent and ambitious, commercially focused Associate Product Manager to join the Nilfisk Americas Product Management Team. In this role, you will contribute to the development and execution of GTM strategy, bring new solutions to market and influence future innovation within Nilfisk's Vacuum, Extractor and Digital Portfolio Solutions.

As Associate Product Manager, you will be an integral part of Nilfisk's strategic journey from a product-oriented manufacturing company to a customer-driven global organization, where investments in new technologies and the intelligent use of data will enable us to better meet our customers' demands. You will have the opportunity to work across a wide range of commercial disciplines - e.g. go-to market strategies, proposition development, product launches, innovation portfolio roadmap and various strategic initiatives with the assigned business segments.

In This Role You Will Get To:

  • Work with global product managers to develop business cases for new products & services
  • Assist in ensuring America market launch readiness on new products and services
  • Support sales and field marketing initiatives to grow the business
  • Work directly with users/customers, distributors, industry experts and sales management to understand market and customer needs
  • Provide daily/ongoing support of R&D, operations, procurement and quality initiatives
  • Develop a process to document and share product knowledge and customer application best practices across various segments
  • Support product managers to maximize overall product line performance including revenue growth, margin improvement, cost reduction, quality and delivery.
  • Monitor and assess competitive products and programs, then subsequently develop and implement proactive strategies to strengthen the product line's competitive edge

With the above key tasks your playground spans over the whole value chain from back- to front-end and you are the go-to-person regarding your product category. You will have to manage multiple stakeholders both internally and towards direct and indirect customers which requires great stakeholder management skills.

You Have:

  • Preferred: 2+ years of Product Management, Product Marketing or related experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Engineering or Business required, MBA is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience helping execute successful new product launches
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including strong active listening skills
  • Demonstrated skills to analyze, interpret and draw meaningful and accurate conclusions from data
  • Proven ability to conduct Voice of the Customer and define customer needs

Further, the right candidate has:

  • An analytical and structured approach to problem solving
  • A high level of drive; motivated by seeing the implementation and results of your work.
  • Ability to manage tasks simultaneously while maintaining focus and a positive attitude
  • Ability to balance working hands-on to execute and deliver on your own projects as well as being able to think long-term to establish the future strategies and plans for growth
  • Capability and willingness to travel as needed (about 20%)

This position is located at Nilfisk Americas Headquarters in Plymouth, MN and will report to the Director, PM - Americas.
